Update on the Current Humanitarian Crisis in Haiti

Recent hikes in fuel prices have worsened the crises and instability that have been ongoing in Haiti for the past years, especially since the assassination of President Moise last year. Like all countries, Haiti is experiencing rising inflation, but prices have become unattainable for much of the population. Such factors, along with a resurgence in cholera, have led to most activities in the country being stalled. The resulting demonstrations have even reached Cap-Haitien, causing the beginning of the school to be delayed. It is a desperate situation, but what can we do?

Children’s Peace Project will continue to work on behalf of our students. It is uncertain when students at EPE will be starting the school year, but, with your generosity, we can ensure they have adequate resources when they finally enter the classroom. If you or family and friends are looking to give, our textbook drive aims to do exactly that. Click here to donate to our fundraiser directly.

We also encourage you to educate yourself about recent developments through credible news outlets such as The Haitian Times and BBC News. Learning, listening, and spreading awareness are all important.

As always, we appreciate your continued support and commitment to the education of our students.
