Day 2: The Bus Ride to Haiti

We woke up this morning after a long, restful sleep in Santiago, ate a nice complementary breakfast at the hotel, packed our bags and hit the road for the bus station. Next we waited a bit for the bus to come and then boarded our big yellow "Caribe Tour Bus". Once we received our complementary hot chicken and rice lunch, we were off! From the Dominican Republic to Haiti!

At the border, we went through customs and got our passports checked. After we crossed the border, it was an immediate change in the environment we had just been in. There was trash all along side the road, but yet it was some of the most beautiful landscape of trees and plants I have ever seen.

After are bus arrived to Cap Haitien, our good friend Edy came to pick us up (but we had so much luggage we had to call another cab to take it all!)

Wow...and we didn't lose anything!

Our long travel day concluded with a nice dinner out, settling in to our apartment, and preparing things for our day at the school tomorrow. Stay Tuned!!
