Le Pepinere Emmanuel School -- Gracie

Hello again :) it's Gracie! So, yesterday we went to La Pepiniere Emmanuel for the second time, again making journals with the students. The children were so sweet; the boys blew us kisses and the girls were kissing us on our cheeks, it was so cool! When it was time to leave, the boys and girls latched onto us and wouldn't stop hugging us. I almost fell over 3 times! They really liked the journals and hopefully, will find much use for them.

For lunch, we went to Kari's favorite restauraunt La Cay, which was really good (once again). I ate so much, I felt sick after :(. After lunch, we were expecting to go back to the school and make journals with the Restivak children* (side note--the Restaviks are a group of poor children that come from the country and stay with locals...working for their stay and going to school in the afternoon), but they don't start until next week so unfortunately, we missed them by a week!  We went and looked at the high school that Rodney went to as a kid, and then talked about possible fundraising opportunities for children that can't afford to go to the high school (which is considered the best for boys in Cap Haiten).

Helping the children build their own journals

I am truly so blessed to be able to attend a trip like this. I am so thankful for getting to see all that I've seen, and all that I will see. I wish that everyone could have this experience; the children are amazing, the land is beautiful, and everything else is just so cool! :)

After that we went back to the hotel, debriefed the day and gave Sarah swimming lessons again :). Then, we fell asleep! I'm soooo tired! haha
